Blogger Plagerized

Wed Dec 15, 2004 at 09:23:27 PM PDT

Blogger etiqutte is such that we as bloggers give credit when using another blogger's posts or columnists articles. It keeps the traffic and recognition flowing to those that deserve it and keeps this well oiled machine moving and unites us as bretheren.

Just recently a new blog has stolen over 15 video clips and articles from Crooksandliars in an attempt to drive traffic to their site. They were asked politely to modify their posts so when they use the articles or video clips, they are routed through C&L's website. Their site has cost a lot of bandwidth that they aren't paying for. They refused and said the only way they will stop is if C&L will work with them. At this point there's no way to stop them from doing it. They reside in Canada I believe. Digby has told C&L that they should publicize it and shame them into stopping. I don't think that will work since obviously they have no shame.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It's the biology Stupid!

Thu Dec 02, 2004 at 11:26:53 AM PDT

From WashingtonPost

By Ceci Connolly

Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, December 2, 2004

Many American youngsters participating in federally funded abstinence-only programs have been taught over the past three years that abortion can lead to sterility and suicide, that half the gay male teenagers in the United States have tested positive for the AIDS virus, and that touching a person's genitals "can result in pregnancy," a congressional staff analysis has found.

The Fundamentalist Right: an oxymoron

Sun Nov 28, 2004 at 05:23:51 PM PDT

From Crooksandliars

We've learned a lot from this election.  We've learned that Jerry Springer airs on PBS in Oklahoma.  We learned that we should post signs on the side of the highway when you cross the Mason/Dixon line that say, 'Caution: Minds Narrow'.  We learned that we must never forget that there is a large section of the country where the terms "cousins once removed" and "coitus interruptus" are pretty much the same thing.  We learned that "compassionate conservatives" are most conservative with their compassion. We learned that the reason they call it America's Heartland is because clearly the brain is not there.  But mostly we have learned that if we're not extra special very careful, America is going to hang itself with it's Bible Belt.

FBI Interviews Halliburton Whistleblower

Wed Nov 24, 2004 at 06:41:56 PM PDT

Hopefully there will be more to come on this story. What ever happened to Valerie Plame?

By JOHN SOLOMON, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - FBI  agents recently spent a day interviewing the Army contracting officer who raised concerns that the Pentagon improperly awarded contracts without competition to Halliburton Co., Vice President Dick Cheney 's former company. The Army Corps of Engineers contract officer, Bunnatine Greenhouse, was interviewed last week and now is gathering documents requested by the FBI and Army criminal investigators, her lawyer said Wednesday.

Tightening the Leaks

Wed Nov 17, 2004 at 09:15:21 AM PDT

The Dept. of Homeland security is requiring that the 180,000 or so employees amd contractors will have to sign a three page secrecy pledge.
The pledge covers sensitive but unclassified information, and it comes just after the 9/11 commission report criticized the gov't for over-classifying information.
Go to http://www.crooksandliars.com/ to see the video segment with Paula Zahn on this story.
Add to that, the purging of the CIA because of disloyalty to President Bush. According to Newsday, "The White House has ordered the new CIA director, Porter Goss, to purge the agency of officers believed to have been disloyal to President George W. Bush or of leaking damaging information to the media about the conduct of the Iraq war and the hunt for Osama bin Ladin..."
http://www.alternet.org/columnists/story/20515/
An even tighter shroud of secrecy begins.
